My great return/explanation for absence

April 26, 2017Jackie1 comment1738 views

First, let me apologize for my hiatus! Lately I’ve been a tad overwhelmed and sitting down and writing has not been a priority. I really think there should be a rule that people who have chronic illnesses are exempt from cold/flus etc. When you take the seizures, add hip problems, and then sprinkle the flu or whatever I have on top it doesn’t bid well for my head space. On any given day, my head space isn’t somewhere I’d like to be most of the time. All this nonsense has given me a chance to really break down my coping/ self-care strategies. Two things I always seems to forget when my head space gets weird is how much I love being outside as well as being active in general. Both can easily boost my mood. Along with treats, lots of treats!

Now that I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things, I have ideas for topics. Lots of ideas! I do however want to know what do you guys want to know? Feel free to either comment or send me a message. I know there are things that seem commonplace to me having been doing this for years, but you’ve always wondered. A little reminder, not much is off limits. Feel free to ask, worst that can happen is that I’ll refuse to answer. I promise to start working on my next big hit very soon. Stay tuned!

How about some lists!?! Top ten attempts at self care methods that totally didn’t work out (e.g. #7 underwater yoga), or five most insane things overheard from a clueless EMT, or seven of the most challenging hurdles of living with a chronic illness that took years to overcome?

I’m on a mission to share my story. I hope by doing so I can make someone feel less alone in their journey. I also wish that by sharing my story I inspire others to start a dialogue about their own.

As someone who has lived with psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) for five years. I write for other chronic illness warriors so they know they aren’t alone.
